CD Projekt Red popped up at WitcherCon to announce that its upcoming next-gen game update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will include new content inspired by Netflix’s The Witcher series.

The next-gen update is now called The Witcher 3: Complete Edition, launching on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. There’s some more good news, too: anyone who already owns The Witcher 3 will get an upgrade to the Complete Edition for free.

The Complete Edition comes with the game’s first content update since 2016’s Blood and Wine expansion, in the form of ‘free DLC’ that makes Geralt look a little more like Henry Cavill.

Cavill, of course, plays Geralt in the Netflix show. Developers at CD Projekt Red also hinted that you might be able to find Cavill-Geralt’s armour in the game. There’s more content coming from the show to the game, but the studio plans to reveal details at a later date.

We still don’t have a release date for The Witcher 3: Complete Edition, but we know that it will feature, “A range of visual and technical improvements,” which include ray tracing and faster load times. In the meantime, you can look forward to The Witcher Season 2 in December and Nightmare of the Wolf in August. Lots of Witcher stuff to look forward to soon!
