Five My Paper readers to help plan panda party

SINGAPORE - Five lucky My Paper readers will get the chance to go behind the scenes at the panda exhibit in the River Safari on Saturday and find out what it is like to be a panda keeper.

They will be part of an exclusive group of 10 Panda Party Planners who will help to organise a private party next Friday to celebrate the first anniversary of Kai Kai and Jia Jia's arrival in Singapore.

Besides learning from the keepers, this group will help to prepare a special cake and toy for the pandas, which are on a 10-year loan from China.

The five My Paper readers were selected in a contest which closed on Sunday that asked interested readers to tell us why they deserved to be chosen.

One of the winners, assistant business-development manager Joseph Tan, 48, wrote in his entry: "I would like to leave a legacy for my children that their father took up this challenge, not to win and get close to pandas, but (to) remind them to be a responsible person to the animals and our environment around us."

The five lucky winners are:

Cheryl Ong: S8731xxxx

Joseph Tan: S1706xxxx

Low Wei Ling: S9449xxxx

Rachel Chia: S9323xxxx

Yang Yan: S9071xxxx
