Popular local rooftop bar Lepark to close its doors for good on Sept 30

Sorry hipsters, looks like it's time to bid adieu to one of the supposed trendiest spots in town.

Come Sept 30, local gastropub Lepark will close its doors permanently at the rooftop car park of People's Park Complex.

The Lepark team explained in a Facebook post on Sept 16 that its last day of operations were due to reasons "beyond their control".

According to Channel NewsAsia, the landlord is reportedly selling the entire car park space.

The late night spot first opened its signature graffiti-painted doors in 2015, offering late-night grub and live music.

Since then, it has hosted a wide range of events, from music gigs to flea markets and even a wedding.

Despite Sept 30 being the gastropub's official curtain call, it seems bent on going out with a bang - and they're doing so by holding an event aimed at raising awareness on dementia.

In a statement, organisers said the We Remember! festival hopes to create awareness of the condition among the younger crowd and targets to bring more than 300 people together at Lepark.

It looks like the Lepark team's message has been clear from the start - to always send good vibes, even when it comes to farewells.
