Thai vendor uses 1,000 mirrors to cook 'BBQ' chicken

Grilled chicken is a popular street food in Thailand but one food vendor has found an innovative way of cooking chicken which has earned him a local award.

Sila Sitharat uses a panel of mirrors to reflect sunlight to cook chicken.

The barbeque chicken stall owner in Phetchaburi said he uses over 1,000 mirrors to create a temperature of 400 degree Celsius which is enough to grill a 1.5kg chicken for 10 to 15 minutes.

His story became famous when Chinese netizens began sharing his story.

He sells some 50 grilled chickens per day for Bt150 (S$6.10) each.
