SINGAPORE - If you were surprised to see hundreds of women practising yoga in public at Dhoby Ghaut Green yesterday morning, don't be.
You were witnessing the second edition of Singapore's first women-only mass yoga event - Shape Yoga in the City 2012, organised by Shape Singapore, a magazine under the SPH group.
A total of 300 female yoga enthusiasts took part in a 75 minute yoga workout led by Copper Crow, country manager of Pure Yoga.
He and his team led the participants through a series of stretches and poses in the event that began at 6.30am.
At the end of the workout, participants were treated to a Cedele breakfast by The Bakery Depot, and a yoga demonstration by Pure Yoga masters.
They also had the opportunity to sample various merchandise presented at the site.
Participants also took home door gifts worth more than $600 each, including a Reebok Yoga mat, Origins UV Face Protector, Skins Capri Tights, Redoxon Vita Immune tablets, one-week pass from Pure Yoga as well as Cedele Organic Green Rooibos Tea.
This year's event was presented by Pure Yoga and co-presented by Redoxon, with Skins as official partner and Origins as official skincare.
