Johor air quality showing improvement
The air quality at many states and towns has improved to the moderate or good category and stayed that way for the past several days. Kota Tinggi remained the only place with the highest API reading of 74 (moderate) followed by Pasir Gu­­dang (64) and Larkin Lama (62).

JOHOR BARU: The air quality in the state showed signs of improve­-ment with the Air Pollutant Index (API) readings staying in the moderate category for the past few days.

The API reading as of 2pm yesterday for Muar was at 48, making a jump from the moderate to good category.

Kota Tinggi remained the place with the highest reading in the state with an API reading of 74 (moderate) followed by Pasir Gu­­dang (64) and Larkin Lama (62).

Bukit Rambai in Malacca had the highest API reading in the country at 77, followed by Kota Tinggi and Banting, both at 74.

Other parts of the country are also enjoying better air quality as API readings in major towns record moderate and good readings.

All states and towns fell out of the unhealthy category.

Among the towns still in the moderate category are Alor Setar (51), Bakar Arang (52), Tanah Merah (51), Bandaraya Melaka (59), Bukit Rambai (77), Nilai (58), Port Dick­son (65) and Seremban (60).

Others include Seberang Jaya 2, Perai (52), USM (51), Banting (74), Port Klang (55), Kuala Terengganu (51), Cheras, Kuala Lumpur (61) and Putrajaya (65).

Those with good API reading include Jerantut (24), Keningau and Tawau (27) while Limbang and Sarikei in Sarawak both recorded API readings of 28.
