MTV star regrets her $37,000 makeover

She was so obsessed with her looks that she underwent 10 surgeries in a day in 2009.

These included breast enlargement, bottom augmentation and liposuction on her thighs.

Heidi Montag, 26, is believed to have spent a whopping US$30,000 (S$37,000) to achieve a perfect body.

After being out of the limelight for a while, the star of MTV show The Hills is planning a return to reality television, Daily Mail reported.

Montag's new show, which also stars her husband Spencer Pratt, is scheduled to start shooting next year.

In a recent interview, she said she is no longer obsessed with being famous. She said: "My priorities are my family, my husband, my love life and my happiness, and everything after that is great.

"My priorities are not money, fame and fashion. I am very grateful for everything I've had, but I will never make those mistakes again and I will never compromise myself and pretend to be someone that I'm not."

The couple is reported to have spent more than US$1 million on "clothes, hair and make-up, managers, publicists, agents and lawyers".

She told Access Hollywood in a recent interview: "I've never really counted, so I'm not sure how much we lost, a lot… over a million or so. If we had saved our money, it would have been better."

She added that she would never go back under the surgeon's knife, saying: "I would never do it again and I would never recommend it to anyone. I should have researched it more.

'It got out of hand'

Went out of hand

"I was definitely way in over my head. I'm glad it worked out and you can't really reverse time. I wanted a few enhancements and then it kind of got out of hand.

"I wasn't really told the repercussions and what would happen emotionally, and the pain I would be in. I was kind of in shock.

"Now, I just focus on being healthy, alive and strong.

"If you're not beautiful inside, it really doesn't matter what you look like outside, and I think I kind of lost track of that."

She also said her husband was against her choice to have so many surgeries.

"He was very against it. That was a big issue in our marriage. We've been married for four years and we've been together for six - in Hollywood that's ancient! Until death do us part I would say.

"I honestly love him more and more every day, I laugh more, we enjoy each other more, especially since taking a step out of the spotlight. We've really been able to enjoy each other without all the chaos."
