SINGAPORE - When the haze here reaches hazardous levels, the Government should issue stop-work orders for those involved in physical labour, such as construction workers.

Safety precautions such as issuing N95 masks are insufficient, and the masks themselves make breathing difficult.

Construction workers should not be pressured to risk their health by working in such conditions.
