Singer Izwan, 32, dies of blood infection

KUALA LUMPUR - Singer and television host Izwan Pilus died of blood infection at the Ampang Hospital here at the age of 32.

Izwan or Khairil Izwan Pilus died at 6.15pm yesterday, said his younger brother, Khairil Azam or Aril, an Akademi Fantasia 7 participant, on his Twitter account.

His manager Shaiful Shazwan told mStar Online that the singer was admitted to the hospital at 12.30am after experiencing shortness of breath.

"The situation became critical in the afternoon before he died," said Shaiful.

Izwan's remains will be taken to his family home in Taman Nyalas Permai, Jasin, Malacca for burial at the Kampung Pelembang Muslim Cemetery in Gubah, Jasin.
