Subsidised breast and cervical cancer screenings available

Subsidised breast and cervical cancer screenings available

SINGAPORE - The National Healthcare Group Diagnostics (NHGD), the business unit under the National Healthcare Group (NHG), is collaborating with the Singapore Cancer Society (SCS) to offer women subsidised mammogram and Pap smear screening.

The initiative is aimed at helping women detect both breast and cervical cancers earlier.

Women who are interested in getting screened can approach SCS for a free Pap smear.

At the same time, they will receive a $10 NHGD mammogram subsidy - which means that a mammogram will cost $40 at any NHGD centre in the nine National Healthcare Group Polyclinics island wide.

Breast cancer is the top cancer affecting women in Singapore.

Each year, 1,556 women are diagnosed with it and some 370 women die from this cancer.

The double screening benefit is available from today onwards.

Please contact the National Healthcare Group Diagnostics (NHGD) Hotline at 6496 6633 for more information.

NHG wishes to highlight that patients will only qualify for the subsidy when they visit SCS for a pap smear screening and fill in a form at the SCS to receive the mammogram subsidy from NHGD.
