Jamie's Italian to open in Bali

Jamie's Italian to open in Bali

British celebrity chef Jamie Oliver is bringing his chain of family-friendly Italian restaurants, Jamie's Italian, to Bali, Indonesia.

Jamie's Italian Kuta Beach is expected to open in 2015.

Jamie's Italian started out as a partnership with his Italian mentor, chef Gennaro Contaldo, in Oxford, England in 2008. The chain now has more than 40 outlets worldwide.

The menu at Jamie's Italian is inspired by tradition, but with Jamie's own twists. The chain has begun to identify suitable producers and suppliers for its Kuta Beach outlet.

Jamie's Italian makes its pasta fresh every morning, and its restaurants usually feature an antipasti station, open kitchen, and an alfresco dining area.

According to a spokesperson, the design of the Bali outpost "is expected to reflect its unique, stunning location, which is a real magnet for locals and tourists".
