The start of the year was a dream for Korean drama fans. Everyone first raved about Crash Landing On You: some fans were buzzing about the couple’s chemistry while others, about Son Ye-Jin’s fashion and beauty looks

Then, Netflix treated us to another K-drama gem: Itaewon Class. Released at the end of January, this drama series follows the life of an ex-convict Park Sae-ro-yi (played by Park Seo-joon) after being expelled from school and his attempt to turn his life around by opening a restaurant.

Popular Korean singer and actress Kwon Nara also starred in the series as the lead’s former classmate and first love, Oh Soo-ah. While some recognised her as the former member of the girl group Hello Venus, others saw her as a fresh face in the industry.

Like many fans, we didn’t just catch the weekly episodes of Itaewon Class solely because of the unfolding romance and dramatic sequences. We also sought to get some much needed #beautyinspo from the fiercely passionate Oh Soo-ah.

Here, we’ve got the low-down on some of our favourite beauty looks from Kwon Nara, both on and off screen.

Just bitten gradient lips

If you've been keeping up with Korean dramas, you'll know that many actresses' usual go-to lip looks are just bitten pink lips. Kwon Nara is no different, and we love how the look suits her.

To recreate her look, pop some of your favourite lip tint onto your lips, focusing the pigment onto your lower lip. Next, use your finger to dap more colour just below your cupid's bow for that gradient effect.

Top the look off with a clear shiny gloss for that wow factor.

Natural, effortless brows

Nothing ties a makeup look together better than a pair of feathery, arched brows. Take it from the Itaewon Class actress - besides lipstick and a cheeky flush, she doesn't have much else going on and yet, she still looks put together and polished. The secret? Her brows.

If you have sparse brows (like most of us do), grab an eyebrow pencil that matches the colour of your hair and fill in your brows in a light, upward motion to mimic natural brow hairs.

Brush it out with a spoolie brush and finish with a clear brow gel to make sure your brows stay perfect all day.

Champagne highlight

Let's talk about the power of a good highlighter. It makes you look awake and gives your complexion a radiance that you can't otherwise get with a foundation. Here, Kwon Nara is rocking a glow that is easily the highlight of her makeup look.

Achieve the same glow by dusting your favourite highlighter onto your cheekbones (and blend it up towards your temples), nose and even your chin. Tip: if you're gunning for an extra wet look, use a damp brush instead.

Rosy flush

Another way to amp up your look is by adding a cheeky blush which also can be doubled-up as an eyeshadow if you're rushing and doing your makeup while on the go.

In a photoshoot last year, Kwon Nara was spotted rocking a rose blush which added a feminine vibe to her makeup look. We love how she chose a blush with added shimmer, so you can skip the highlighter and let the pink blush shine on its own.

Glam, vampy pout

If you thought Kwon Nara's only capable of pulling off a girly, feminine style, you're mistaken. Here, she's rocking a dark red lippie that instantly adds glamour to her makeup look.

So, if you're hopping onto a Skype meeting or even heading out for a date (after the one month circuit breaker, of course), try a dark lip that'll make you look like you put in way more effort into your look than you actually did.

Pair the lippie with some mascara and a cat eye and wow, you'll have a winner.

Tightlined eyes

Speaking of cat eye, if you're not a fan of winged liner, you can still make your eyes look bigger and more awake by tightlining your eyes like the actress did here. It doesn't look like much, but it'll make all the difference to amp up your makeup look.

For this, you'll need a pencil liner instead of a gel, so you can easily smudge the pigment into your tightline. Tip: opt for a grey or brown liner if you're looking to go for the more natural route.

Glossy red lips

Ah, we've left the best for last. Kwon Nara looks stunning in all the different makeup looks but this one where she's rocking a glossy red lip really takes the cake. She looks all glammed up, and her pout is easily an attention grabber, especially since it's so glossy.

Recreate this look by first treating your lips to a lip scrub so they look plump and ready for step two. Then, line your lips with a shade similar to your lipstick so the colour doesn't bleed out throughout the day.

Finally, pop on your favourite red lipstick with some added gloss over for maximum, head-turning glamour.
