It’s a bit of a cliche but there is a reason why people say “you are what you eat.”

As much as I enjoy my plate of Char Kway Teow from time to time, I recognise the importance of eating healthily.

The food choices you make each day affect your health — how you feel today, tomorrow, and in the future.

Having a healthy diet is an important part of leading a healthy lifestyle.

Together with physical activity, your diet can help you to reach and maintain a healthy weight, reduce your risk of chronic diseases (like heart disease and cancer), and promote your overall health.

This is why we have compiled a list of the best healthy food delivery services in Singapore.

This list caters to those want to eat more healthily in general and the calorie counters who want more control of their diet

The majority of the companies on this list offer up healthy options like low-calorie and high-protein meals delivered to your doorstep.

We have broken them down by budget and the types of meals that can be stored and the meals that need to be consumed within the day.

Fresher Singapore review: From $10.95/meal

As the name suggests, Fresher Singapore serves up fresh original meals to your doorstep.

The cool thing about their meals is that they are blast frozen to ensure that the food retains its nutrition and quality.

Food that is blast frozen creates smaller ice crystals. This is better as larger ice crystals damage materials by causing phenomena like cell bursting, which affects the quality and flavour of foods.

The most affordable meal you can find on their menu is the Clean Chicken Breast in Green Nut Butter at $10.95.

Their menu also consists of food with an international flavour with the option to pick set meals, protein by the pound and even keto diet-friendly meals.

Storage Instruction:

To keep Fresher Singapore meals for more than 5 days, please freeze the meals upon delivery and consume them within 1 month.

Delivery Fees:

  • $15 for orders less than $130
  • Free delivery for orders $130 and above
  • Free self-collection (17 Sims Way S388829)

*Do note that you have to make an order of at least $50 before you can checkout online

Grain has styled themselves as a food experience company.

On top of their catering, they have launched a Meals on-demand service delivering Grain Bentos.

They deliver delicious healthy meals to you, with new dishes added every week.

The most affordable thing on their menu is their Basil Thunder Tea Rice, a healthy Hakka staple that costs $10.95.

Their menu contains a mix of international and local cuisine with salads and even Nasi Lemak Ayam Masak Merah.

On top of that, they have a $16 surcharge for orders below $100 regardless of whether you opt for self-collection or delivery.

Thus it is best you share this with a big group of friends.

However, unlike the options on this list, you cannot keep the food for too long as Grain prepares their meals fresh every day.

They recommend that you consume within 2-3 hours of delivery.

AMGD review: From $12/meal

[embed]https://www.instagram.com/p/B8FgDfgBPKw/[/embed]

AMGD is one of the pioneers of this healthy food delivery scene in Singapore.

We have put them twice on this list as they cater to different budgets.

AMGD is short for AHHMAHGAWD, the feeling they want you to get after eating their food.

AMGD works on a pay-per-use-credit system where you can buy a certain number of meals credits called the AMGD PASS.

You can then use your meal credits whenever you want.

Their menu cannot be customised, although you have over 180 delicious and healthy bento boxes to choose from at any time.

This is better suited for those who are looking for a variety of meals that are healthier and not those who have very specific meal requirements.

AMGD is the most expensive option on this list with a single meal price of $17.

If you want to get your meal at the $12, you will have to purchase the 101 meal package which costs a hefty $1,212.

A big financial commitment for sure.

Storage Instructions:

The bento boxes are made fresh before delivery and have to be consumed within two to three hours.

However, if you wish to keep the meal for next day consumption, please request for cold ingredients to be packed separately when you place your order. The meal is good to be kept 24 hours and re-heat with microwave medium heat around 3 to 4 minutes.

Delivery Fees:

  • Free for self-collection
  • Free for 2 or more meals (2 meal credits)
  • $2.50 for all other orders
  • $5 for distant areas like Tuas, Changi and Sentosa

Bonus: SecondMeal – why not buy a meal for someone in need?

We are talking about a meal delivery service of another kind.

For most of us, a humble $3 meal at the hawker centre is something many of us take for granted each day.

This is not the case for the 4.1 per cent of Singaporeans who face food insecurity.

If you would like to give back, you can consider giving to the folks over at Non-Profit Organisation Secondmeal.

They run a tech-driven platform that serves to feed the needy in Singapore with your help.

The platform is where you can donate to send meals to the less fortunate in Singapore.

For example, Happy People Helping People (HPHP) are on the Secondmeal platform.

Through the platform, you can give meals to HPHP’s beneficiaries; the less fortunate elderly in neighbourhoods Ang Mo Kio, Jalan Besar, Toa Payoh and Chinatown.

You will be helping people like this cleaner auntie, and the many working elderlies who struggle to put food on the table.

There you have it a list of healthy meal delivery options in Singapore starting from $6.
