Drinking in Singapore with the Covid-19 shutdown: Bars that deliver bottled cocktails, craft beer, sake, and wine

In case you missed it, entertainment venues in Singapore had to shut their doors from 27 March until 30 April 2020 in an attempt to curb the local spread of Covid-19. Besides nightclubs, theatres, and karaoke outlets, this move involved some of our favourite bars in the city too.

If you're thirsty and would like to #savefnbsg while practising social distancing, here are a list of bars that offer delivery or takeaway bottled cocktails and below, bars we know of that are still open for business.

Copper

A whisky lounge and restaurant by the folks behind Quaich Bar and The Whisky Store, Copper has come up with 135 mini 'tasting bottles' of whisky of 60ml each, available for takeaway for delivery.

Highlights include the Cadenhead Macduff 10 YO 2006 Bourbon Hogsheads ($18.83, 46 per cent ABV) and the cask strength Cadenhead Linkwood-Glenlivet 28 YO 1987 Butts ($37.66, 58.4 per cent ABV).

Folks who'd like to do a small tasting session at home can opt for one of their flights of three or four whiskies, such as The Peat Freak ($98.87) and Brandy Bonanza ($95.33). Free delivery over $300.

Fung Kee Hotdogs

The establishment of Fung Kee Hotdogs in 2018 brought two unlikely partners together - hotdogs and bubbly - and now we can imagine life before it. Don't have cash to splash on a 2009 vintage Dom Perignon?

That's cool, now you can get six classic Fung Kee hotdogs and a bottle of organic Prosecco at home for $98 or six hotdogs with six Negronis (the current batch has a base of Swedish Herno Organic Gin) at $118. Free one-hour delivery islandwide.

Available via: WhatsApp at +65 9838 0436, limited selection on Deliveroo

Fung Kee is located at 68 Duxton Road, Singapore 089527, p. +65 8235 4935. Open Mon-Sat 5pm-12am. Closed Sun.

They've just launched bottled cocktails available for takeaway and delivery in 325ml and 700ml formats; look forward to the refreshing Midsummer Night Spritz ($25) with elderflower and a dash of absinthe and a classic Rum Old Fashioned ($60, $120).

Aside from their well executed classics like the Clear Old Fashioned, the takeaway menu includes signatures like the creamy and umami Farewell To Arms and The Sun Also Rises, a tropical take on the Negroni with coconut oil fat-washed applejack and curry leaf-infused gin. Shin Gi Tai

[embed]https://www.instagram.com/p/B-YUnZnHPdC/[/embed]

Shin Gi Tai might have had to close its doors, but its team of bartenders are hard at work bottling a wide variety of cocktails for takeaway and delivery.

In 300ml and 500ml formats, you'll find their signature Negroni ($80, $130) and other classics, but we like the sound of the cognac-and-calvados Yakuza Bad Boy ($95, $165), inspired by founder Anthony Zhong's days in Ginza.

The best part? You can even order large blocks of clear ice ($1 each)for a better cocktail experience at home.

Available at: Order form

Shin Gi Tai is located at 179A Telok Ayer Street, Singapore 068627, p. +65 9477 8755.

Temple Cellars

This fun, no-frills bar and bottle shop at UE Square didn't have many seats before, and now with social distancing, seats are even more limited.

So it makes sense to order online with free one-hour delivery for orders above $150 and free next day delivery for orders above $99, or make use of their new drive-thru service available 1-6pm daily at the taxi stand.

Beers and ciders, sake and wines, spirits and even the non-alcoholic stuff - Temple Cellars can certainly sort you out.
