'Best thing I ate' is a series where we share the best things we have eaten around Singapore. Read more here.

What: Brunch Plates at Simply Bread (around $12/each)

Where: Guthrie House, 1 Fifth Avenue, #01-03 Singapore 268802

If you are someone who likes to sleep in during the weekends, a good brunch is important. Simply Bread at Guthrie House is the place for a delicious yet affordable brunch that leaves you, and your stomach, satisfied.

The Sausage Brunch Plate comes with two juicy grilled sausages complemented by creamy delicate scrambled eggs, and two slices of lightly toasted bread served with jam and soft butter. If you are not one for sausages, I would recommend the Ham Steak Brunch Plate which comes with the same sides and two slices of rich, flavorful spiced ham with honey glaze.

A good drink after a hearty meal is as important as the meal being delicious. If you are a coffee drinker, the latte at Simply Bread blends bitter espresso and rich milk nicely. If you are not, well Simply Bread also offers an array of drink choices from various teas to even plain milk.

If you are looking for a splendid brunch platter and a place to hang out, then Simply Bread would be your to-go place.
