Taiwanese-Australian actress Hannah Quinlivan might get glammed up when she gets in front of the camera, but in her downtime, she prefers to let her natural beauty shine. Spoiler alert: she looks just as good without an ounce of makeup.

Thankfully, Mrs. Jay Chou has been pretty open about her go-to skincare products and beauty hacks that help keep her skin looking radiant and fresh. In honour of Hannah turning 28, here are some ways she takes care of her skin.

When she’s off duty, she doesn’t wear much makeup

The “Skyscraper” star revealed to Icon that when she is not on camera, she embraces a pared-back makeup routine — and tries as much as possible to go bare-faced to let her skin breathe. “If I’m not filming or making an appearance in a programme, I don’t put on makeup. Before I head out, I’ll line my eyes and conceal my dark eye circles. That’s it, she said.

And when she does, she is diligent about taking her makeup off

The way Hannah sees it, there’s no cutting corners: a healthy, radiant complexion starts with a thorough cleanse. This is a good call as certain ingredients in makeup can clog pores, which can exacerbate acne and cause your skin to look dull. Yikes.

The most surprising thing we’ve gleaned from social media is that she too struggles with dark circles and dry skin under the eyes. To hydrate and plump the delicate skin surrounding the peepers, Hannah always makes sure to use an eye cream.

“The eyes are very important to a woman. If the under-eye area is dry, the signs of ageing can creep up. I always make it a point to moisturise my eye area,” she told Elle Taiwan.

She works out

We know, broken record, but breaking a sweat really is crucial for boosting your glow. “Along with taking good care of my skin, I like to exercise. Exercising works up a sweat and promotes metabolism. It also helps with the release of toxins. My skin doesn’t feel as dry after (working out),” she said in the same interview.

She uses a sheet mask daily

Hannah attributes her enviable complexion to her daily masking habit. She swears by Dr Wu’s products to keep her skin in tip top shape and has shouted out the brand’s masks in multiple interviews.

“I use Dr Wu’s fragrance-free mask daily. It’s extremely gentle on skin and doesn’t cause any allergic reactions. The mask also adheres well to skin,” she said.

She takes her sun protection very seriously

In an Instagram post, Hannah revealed her own personal favourite skincare products to achieve radiant skin and protect her skin from sun damage.

Some of her must-haves include DHC’s Sustained Release Vitamin C Tablets and Biore’s Super UV Milk Sunscreen SPF48+. Want to know what else is in her sunscreen stash? Check this article out.

Repeat after us and the cherubic beauty — “Hydrating your skin is so important.” She told Taiwanese media that she “nourishes her dry skin with hyaluronic acid before following up with a squalene-based serum.”
