Loewe Spring Summer 2014 Skin collection: The new classics

You have watched the video teasers. Now it's time to get acquainted with Loewe's minimalistic Spring Summer 2014 collection, aptly named Skin.

While the Skin collection's pared down aesthetic may be a stark departure from the polka dots and fluorescent hues from previous seasons, it's no less impressive, thanks to the quality leathers used.

The luxury label has based its success on its quality skins and Spring Summer 2014 brings everything back to where it started, by putting its leathers in the spotlight.

Clever pattern-cutting techniques have transformed these leathers into innovative, collapsible structures that can be folded flatly - a feat only possible with leathers that are large and strong but also soft and supple.

To further demonstrate how the skins can be played with in origami style, two new designs, the Cubo and Pillow, have also been introduced with this new collection.

The Cubo is a versatile bag with double handles and a detachable shoulder strap. When folded right in the middle, it becomes flat - travellers will love this handy property of the Cubo. As for the Pillow, the bag does resemble one when it falls flat and we suspect that it will be easy to fall asleep on the soft leather, just like on a pillow.

True to its name, the arm candies come in a palette of flesh-like tones and also python for those who love an extra touch of luxe. The collection is not only becomes super practical, the neutral hues make the pieces a dream when it comes to matching your every outfit. We have a feeling that these bags will become classics in no time.

HerworldPLUS x Loewe

On March 20, 2014, 40 special herworldPLUS members and their friends joined Her World and herworldPLUS for a private event at the Loewe boutique at Marina Bay Sands. Our guests discovered the new experimental Skin collection over champagne and canapes.

But what's a fashion event without some style? At this herworldPLUS x Loewe event, Her World's fashion editor Patrick Sin shared some styling tips for the season. With the help of two lovely models decked out in Loewe's made to order collection, he imparted advice on how to rock the neutral hues with prints, bright colours and more.
