PUTRAJAYA - A 111-year-old registered voter will be among the more than 60,300 people who will go to the polls in the Teluk Intan parliamentary by-election on May 31.
Announcing the polls date yesterday, Election Commission chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof said 45 people eligible to cast their votes in the constituency are over 100 years old.
The oldest of them is 111 years old, he told a press conference after chairing a meeting on the by-election at the EC headquarters here.
The commission fixed May 19 as nomination day while early voting has been set for May 27.
The by-election is being held following the death of DAP's Seah Leong Peng from cancer last week.
