It took 20 able-bodied farmers a whole hour to wrestle a 5m-long crocodile weighing 300kg and seal its deadly jaws.
Harian Metro reported that the croc was found stuck to the ropes of a ferry in Sungai Teniku in Miri, Sarawak.
A farmer, Eddy Suwandy, 34, said he heard thrashing in the water and discovered the entangled crocodile.
He said it was attempting to free itself from the ropes but failed and its struggle shook the ferry.
"Once we reached the banks of the river, we tried to pull it to shore but it proved to be a struggle as it was extremely large," he said.
"After much struggle, we managed to tie it up.
"We have seen other crocodiles of the same size or larger in the area," he said, adding that the people living in the area were warned not to go near the river.
The crocodile was later sent to the Miri crocodile park.
