PETALING JAYA - Three men associated with Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim have been released on police bail after being detained earlier in the week.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Senior Deputy Comm Datuk Tajuddin Md Isa confirmed that Adam Adli Abdul Halim and Jingga 13 head coordinator Fariz Musa were freed from the Jinjang central lock-up yesterday.
The duo were arrested on Saturday for taking part in a rally calling for Anwar's release outside KL Sogo.
The 4pm rally started with a lion dance for the crowd of about 50 and continued with speeches from Adam, PKR Youth chief Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad and Anwar's daughter Nurul Nuha Anwar.
Adam was arrested at the end of the rally.
A shouting and shoving match ensued between Adam's supporters and the police before he was taken to the police lock-up. A news portal later quoted Nik Nazmi as saying that Fariz was also detained by police on the same day.
Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Zainol Samah said that Lawrence Jayaraj was also released yesterday.
Lawrence was arrested at his house in Cheras on Friday following his Facebook posting criticising the recent Anwar sodomy verdict.
Meanwhile, Nik Nazmi himself was picked up by police at his home in Denai Alam last night.
