Another video of man kicking woman down staircase in Malaysia goes viral, suspect arrested

KUALA LUMPUR: The man who was allegedly seen in a viral video kicking a woman down a flight of stairs on the bridge near an LRT station has been arrested by police.

City police chief Comm Datuk Mazlan Lazim said the 34-year-old suspect was arrested at a bus stop at Kampung Batu Muda here at about 11.05pm on Wednesday.

He said that checks showed that the suspect had done the same thing before and had records for several offences for criminal intimidation, vandalism and causing hurt.

Comm Mazlan said that he was charged before for a similar offence and was sentenced to three months in prison.

Comm Mazlan said that the case was being investigated under Section 325 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt.

It was earlier reported that a man who was charged with assaulting women on a pedestrian bridge near the Bank Negara Malaysia building here may be back to his old antics.

The issue resurfaced when a viral video showed the suspect kicking a woman down a flight of stairs on the bridge near an LRT station before nonchalantly walking away from the scene at around 1.30pm on Monday (Nov 6).

The 34-year-old victim appeared to be shocked by the attack and suffered backaches from the fall.

She later lodged a report at the Dang Wangi police station.

The woman is said to have suffered injuries to her right cheek when she fell.
