BUKIT MERTAJAM - Flash mobs were held in Penang in the run-up to the Bersih 4 rally this weekend.

More than 30 people, comprising PKR Wanita members and their supporters, staged a "Flash Mob and Selfie Bersih 4.0" event, and carried placards near the Bukit Tengah roundabout here Thursday.

Penang PKR Wanita chief Nur Zarina Zakaria led the one-hour event that started at about 5.15pm.

In GEORGE TOWN, about 20 Bersih 4 supporters clad in yellow shirts performed a flash mob near Komtar on Thursday evening.

Chanting "Bersih", the participants were spotted holding placards bearing slogans such as "Bersih" and "Bersih - Penang is Ready".

The one-hour hour flash mob took place at three locations - the Prangin Mall, 1st Avenue Mall and Komtar bus terminal.

The Bersih 4, which is set to take place in Kuala Lumpur during the weekend, has been declared illegal by the police as the organiser has not obtained permission from the Kuala Lumpur City Council to hold the rally.

Bersih 2.0 chief Maria Chin Abdullah, however, insists that the weekend rally will proceed as planned.
