KUALA LUMPUR - The body of slain deputy public prosecutor (DPP) Kevin Morais has finally been claimed from the Kuala Lumpur Hospital mortuary, say police.
Sentul OCPD Asst Comm R. Munusamy said the family claimed it at about 11.30am yesterday.
The family had refused to claim the body since Sept 16, demanding that a second autopsy be done on the remains of the murdered DPP.
It was reported that there allegedly was uncertainty over the cause of death, which troubled the family.
"The cause of death has been communicated to the family members," ACP Munusamy told The Star, declining to give details.
Kevin's brother Datuk Richard Morais preferred not to comment and would not confirm if the body had been claimed.
Kevin was abducted by several men following a minor accident along Jalan Dutamas on Sept 4.
A DNA test on a body found in a cemented oil drum dumped in a swamp in Subang Jaya on Sept 16 identified the remains as Kevin's.
