KUALA LUMPUR- Despite allegations of being beaten up and almost killed by his maid, the innocent seven-year-old boy is still asking for her.
"He misses her. He keeps asking his parents 'mana kak? Mana kak pergi?'. He doesn't understand what she had tried to do," said a police source.
On June 26, the 37-year-old maid had allegedly hit the boy and slapped him before trying to burn down the house in Kepong.
The boy, who suffered bruises on his lips and back, was rescued by security guards.
His parents were out for their morning jog then. The boy, who remained at home with the Indonesian maid, managed to call for help and neighbours alerted the guards.
It is believed that the child was close with his maid, who was very "loving" to him, according to neighbours and the police.
Authorities are still puzzled at what could have driven the maid to commit the crime.
Sentul OCPD Asst Comm R. Munusamy said the suspect was believed to still be in the country. "We are working with Interpol and the Indonesian embassy to track her down."
