Chegubard, Adam Adli ordered to enter defence over illegal assembly, rioting charge

KUALA LUMPUR: Former PKR Rembau division chief Badrul Hisham Shaharin and student activist Adam Adli Abdul Halim were among 15 persons ordered to enter their defence for taking part in an unlawful assembly two years ago.

Sessions Court judge Abdul Rashid Daud made the ruling after the prosecution had succeeded in establishing a prima facie case against them.

Judge Abdul Rashid also ordered Badrul Hisham (who is popularly known as Chegubard), Adam Adli and another eight persons to enter their defence for rioting on the road leading to Parliament.

The offences were allegedly committed at Jalan Parlimen on June 24, 2013, between 9.15am and 11.25am.

They were charged under Section 143 and Section 147 of the Penal Code. The court later fixed Jan 26 and 27, next year for trial.
