MALAYSIA - A teacher gave birth to a baby girl in a classroom with her colleagues and the school principal acting as the midwives.
Utusan Malaysia reported that Rabiatul Adawiyah Ibrahim, 29, was hit by labour pains during her class at SMK Taman Desaminium in Seri Kembangan, Selangor.
The principal and other teachers rushed over to help her.
She safely gave birth to a 2.2kg girl at about 11.30am on Wednesday. Both mother and child were sent to the hospital later.
Rabiatul's husband Raja Abdullah Raja Jusoh, 29, said his wife was only due in two weeks and that he was shocked to receive a call from his wife.
"She called to say she was having labour pains but when I arrived at the school she had already given birth," said Raja Abdullah, who teaches in another school.
This is their third child.
