TANGKAK, Malaysia - A police officer believed to have been suffering from mental problems shot his wife and father-in-law and then himself at Jalan Sialang here.
L/Kpl Fadzly Omar was said to have first shot his wife Norakma Kadir, 28, at the Felda Chempelak quarters where he was on duty at about 6pm yesterday, before he went to Ab Kadir Md Arif's house to shoot him.
After that, L/Kpl Fadzly turned the gun on himself.
L/Kpl Fadzly died on the spot while Ab Kadir, who sustained severe injuries, was pronounced dead at the Tangkak Hospital.
L/Kpl Fadzly and his wife were known to have problems between them, and they had previously gone for counselling sessions with the religious department.
He was also said to have been suffering from mental problems, but he never sought professional treatment.
A source confirmed that the police were notified of the incident at about 7.15pm, and investigations are still ongoing.
