Cops call for help to move 160kg body

KUALA LUMPUR: Fire and Rescue Department officers had to be called in to help remove the body of an overweight man, who died of a heart attack, in his house.

The man, who the police said weighed 160kg, reportedly died in the bedroom on the first floor of his home along Jalan Terasek 3, Bangsar, at about 6am yesterday.

Pantai station operations commander Salmi Abdul Mukti said the police requested the department's help to remove the man from the house as they found it difficult to carry him down the narrow stairway.

"It took seven of our officers to bring the body down," Salmi said. "We used a stretcher and a rope to lift him."
