Cops investigating case of preschooler who fell from school’s second floor

SEREMBAN - Authorities are investigating whether a preschooler at a primary school near here fell from the second floor of a school block or if he was pushed by another student.

The six-year-old was believed to have been on his way to the second floor to meet his mother, a teacher at the school in Paroi near here, when the incident happened at about 1pm on Wednesday.

Some eyewitnesses claim that the boy tripped and fell while others are claiming that he fell from level three to level two.

There is also talk that he was pushed by an older special needs student.

The victim's 38-year-old father has filed a police report over the matter in which he stated that he was notified by one of the school's teachers that his son had fallen from the second floor.

He said his son suffered multiple injuries and had been warded at the intensive care unit at the Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital here.

Apart from head injuries, the boy also suffered a broken right thigh and fractured his left arm.

Negri Sembilan Education director Datuk Kalsom Khalid confirmed the incident but said details were sketchy. The school has been asked to file a report over the matter.
