KUALA LUMPUR - A national council on political funding may be formed within the next two weeks, a Minister in the Prime Minister's Department said.
Datuk Paul Low said letters inviting people to sit on this council were to be sent out by the end of the week.
"It (the formation of this council) should be very soon, within two weeks because it has to depend on how fast they (those invited) are responding," he told reporters at the Royale Chulan Hotel.
He was referring to an idea mooted by the Prime Minister last week, in which Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the government will look into political funding and regulating them.
Low said invite letters would be sent to politicians from both the Barisan and Opposition coalitions, as well as civil society and groups such as the Bar Council.
