KUALA LUMPUR - Police quizzed DAP's Young Syefura Othman for about 20 minutes Friday over an allegedly seditious post she made against a Sultan in 2014.

The delay in calling her up, claimed lawyer Gobind Singh Deo, was apparently because the police was unable to find her for over a year.

"The investigating officer said that her home address given was not complete, so they couldn't find her," he said.

Syefura, or more commonly known as Rara, entered the Dang Wangi police station at about 10am and was quizzed over a screengrab of her Facebook posting where she allegedly wrote "#Sultanbukantuhan".

Gobind said police questioned her on the authenticity of the screengrab and released her after she co-operated with them.

Dang Wangi CID chief DSP M. Gunalan confirmed Syefura's statement was recorded over the alleged seditious remarks but denied police could not locate her over the period of one year.

"Investigations were just delayed. It was just a small statement," he said.
