KUALA LUMPUR - A Datuk, his wife and their four children lost their way for several hours while jogging at the Bukit Kiara forest reserve.
According to Brickfields OCPD ACP Muhammad Azlee Abdullah, the group started their trek from the Mont Kiara side of the reserve at about 5:30pm on Saturday.
"They went off the track, but continued until late evening.
"At about 8pm, we received a call from one of the Datuk's friend saying that the group was lost in the Mont Kiara jungle," he said.
The group was found by rescuers around 11pm at the fringes of Country Heights Damansara before they were led out at about 12:15am yesterday.
"They are safe and sound, but a little tired," he said.
Taman Tun Dr Ismail Fire and Rescue Department station chief Hamdan Maat said rescuers were helped by the fact that the group was in contact via WhatsApp.
"We stayed in constant contact and told them to stay put and to turn on their global positioning system.
"We believe they may have lost their way and went off track while jogging in the rain earlier in the evening," he said.
The Datuk had appealed for privacy, and requested that the media not use his picture.
