MAIRA Elizabeth, the teenage daughter of chief steward Andrew Nari of the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, got a chance to meet with her father's favourite football team Liverpool, which is in Malaysia for a friendly match.

The team, which is set to play against Malaysia tonight, met Maira as it knew she was a loyal Reds fan.

Utusan Malaysia reported that Maira met with the players yesterday at a hotel in Subang Jaya.

Maira posted on her Instagram account about the meeting with Liverpool club manager Brendan Rodgers, team captain Jordan Henderson, retired footballer Ian Rush and British High Commissioner to Malaysia Vicki Treadall.

"I have never in my dreams imagined I could meet them. I am excited. It's such an unforgettable moment.

"I mean, this is Dad's favourite club," said Maira in her posting.

She also thanked Liverpool for making her dream come true, saying her father would have been most delighted.

Maira caught Liverpool's attention after she posted on Twitter last year, asking her father to come home to watch a match Liverpool was winning.
