SHAH ALAM - A baby girl was found in front of a flat in Bukit Tinggi, Klang, early Saturday.
Klang South police deputy chief Supt Goh Lee Fook said a woman who lived in the flat was shocked by the discovery of the newborn at 7.30am and immediately took her in before calling the police.
He said it was believed that the baby was born about 24 hours earlier. Further examination found that the light-skinned baby was wrapped in a blanket when she was left at the flat and her umbilical cord was removed.
He said no document was found on the baby.
"Police suspect the baby had been left in front of the flat as there were no injuries on the body.
"The police are trying to find out who the baby's parents are," he said in a SMS to Bernama.
He said the baby girl, weighing about 3kg, was sent to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) Klang.
