INDIA - Relatives of a man who had "died" of snake bite about 11 years ago were shocked when he suddenly appeared in Patwa village in Uttar Pradesh, northern India.

Malaysian Nanban reported that the villagers had thought that Satrapal, 25 then, had died from the deadly bite and according to their custom, the dead body was floated down the river.

The villagers had also asked his younger brother to marry his widow Urmila.

The widow bore the new husband two children.

Satrapal, now 36, said he was rescued from the river by snake charmers, who successfully treated him.

Urmila said she is currently treating both brothers as her husbands and waiting for the family to make a final decision.
