Deceased woman's injuries inconsistent with fall, cops hunting boyfriend

SUBANG JAYA - Police are hunting down the 54-year-old boyfriend of a 20-year-old Vietnamese woman who was found dead under dubious circumstances at an apartment block on Jalan Subang 1, USJ 1 here.

District police chief Asst Comm Yahaya Ramli said the man disappeared since his girlfriend, identified as Tran Thi Kim Sang, was found dead early Tuesday.

ACP Yahaya said police found Tran's body on the first floor of the apartment block and did not suspect foul play initially as her wounds appeared to have been incurred during a fall.

He said her body was sent to Hospital Serdang for a post-mortem .

"The post-mortem results revealed that her wounds were inconsistent with someone who fell off a building.

"It showed that she died from slash wounds to the neck in addition to falling from height," he added.

ACP Yahaya said police believed that a sharp object, likely a knife, was used.

Tran also suffered serious injuries to her face and broke her right leg.

"We believe that her boyfriend, the last person seen with her, would be able to shed light on the incident.

"However, he has gone missing and cannot be contacted on his mobile phone," he explained.

The motive behind Tran's death is still under investigation.

The case has been classified as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
