KUALA LUMPUR - Hotels in the city centre and its surrounding areas were all full due to the major events of Barisan Nasional component parties.
Besides Gerakan having its nomination for the party's top posts, MCA organised its pre-extraordinary general meeting (EGM) dinner yesterday and EGM today.
An MCA administrative officer said the major events had made it difficult for the party to secure rooms for its 2,380-plus central delegates from the peninsula and Sabah.
"Before, we put them up at hotels within walking distance from Wisma MCA.
"But now, we have to squeeze them into whichever hotels of the same standard we could find here," he said.
As a result, the central delegates were put up at around 10 hotels with some hotels several kilometres from the EGM venue, Wisma MCA.
Taiping division chairman Lim Kar Seng was one of the lucky ones, who stayed at a hotel nearby.
"It does not matter where we stay. We came for the event for the sake of the party, not the hotels," he added.
