SEPANG - Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was briefed on the services and facilities at KLIA2 on his first official visit to the world's largest purpose-built terminal for low-cost carriers.

He was accompanied on his visit yesterday by Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai.

The briefing was conducted by Malaysia Airports Holding Berhad (MAHB) managing director Datuk Badlisham Ghazali.

Muhyiddin was informed that as the main international gateway to Malaysia, it was crucial for KLIA2 to portray an image in tandem with the country's aspirations to achieve developed status.

KLIA2 began its operations in May last year.

During his visit, Muhyiddin also opened MAHB's retail arm Eraman International Departure Emporium.

The 3,000 sq m emporium is Eraman's largest single retail outlet to date.
