Deadly plunge: Firemen retrieving the bodies of two men at Jalan Tebing Runtuh, Gelang Patah.

GELANG PATAH - Two men in their 20s were found dead several days after their car plunged into a ravine along Jalan Tebing Runtuh here.

Nusajaya acting OCPD Deputy Supt Ismail Dollah said police were alerted to the wreckage that was found at 4.35pm on Saturday.

The dead were identified as B. Mogan, 23, and N. Kathiravan, 21, from Yong Peng and Tampoi.

"Initial investigations showed that Kathiravan, who was heading to Johor Baru from Gelang Patah, lost control of the car and it skidded to the left side of the road before plunging into the ravine.

"It is believed that the victims had died for more than 24 hours before the wreckage was found," DSP Ismail said in a statement.

The remains were sent to Hospital Temenggong Seri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim for a post-mortem to determine the cause and exact time of death.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving.
