SEGAMAT - An elderly couple were attacked and killed by a wild boar while they were tapping rubber on a plantation in Kuala Paya near Buloh Kasap here.

Loo See Sing, 66, and his wife Liow Mei Lan, 68, were tapping in the early morning at the plantation that belonged to another owner.

Segamat OCPD Supt Mohd Kamil Sukarmin said the case was initially investigated for murder, but re-classified as sudden death.

"We were investigating for murder based on the marks on their bodies when suddenly a wild boar appeared.

"It started charging at our men.

"Officers had to shoot the beast and realised that it had blood stains on its tusks," he said.
