Facebook user apologises for 'riot' post

KUCHING - A Facebook user using the handle Asmaelz Hadzeny II said his post about the 'Himpunan Guling Kerajaan' rally was done for fun.

The 25-year-old was met by reporters at Kuching International Airport around 10.25pm on Friday, and was escorted out of the arrival hall by Special Branch officers.

"I'm sorry for my (Facebook) post to incite people to riot, which was made just for fun.

"I would like to apologise to all Malaysians because the remarks were made without thinking. (Action) not influenced by anyone," he told reporters.

He was arrested by police at Kampung Karambut in Saratok on Dec 26 the same day the remarks were posted.

He was brought to the police headquarters in Bukit Aman and remanded until his release on Friday.

Federal CID director Comm Datuk Hadi Ho Abdullah said the case would be investigated for activity detrimental to parliament democracy.
