JOHOR BARU - A 37-year-old man was found dead in his office at a factory in Taman Setia Indah.
Police also discovered a handwritten note on a table beside him.
Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Sulaiman Salleh said the stench of burnt charcoal was apparent inside the office.
Earlier, police received calls from members of the public about the find at the industrial estate, he said yesterday.
ACP Sulaiman said the man was found slumped on a sofa in the office which was locked from the inside.
He said the victim ran a business marketing and repairing machinery and equipment.
"An initial investigation showed no criminal element over his death," said ACP Sulaiman. "The victim died of suffocation from thick smoke."
