Fallen tree at KLCC injures two

PETALING JAYA: A fallen tree at Jalan Ampang in Kuala Lumpur injured a motorcyclist and his pillon rider, causing gridlock in the city centre Monday morning.

Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) posted on Twitter on Monday morning, saying that the tree fell in front of KLCC heading towards Avenue K.

DBKL said the falling tree struck some people in the area, adding that traffic police and the Fire and Rescue Department are on site.

Photographs showed the firemen attending to an unconscious victim.

Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department director Khiruddin Drahman told Bernama that the incident occurred about 7.30am and both the victims had been sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital."Work is being carried out by DBKL to clean the area of debris," he said.

Motorists heading towards the city centre are advised to use the alternative routes.
