A fisherman narrowly escaped the jaws of death after a 10-minute tussle with a crocodile while bathing at a river near his raft house in Kampung Tebu Hitam, Rompin, reported Berita Harian.
Ewa Judak, 33, said he was taking a bath at 8.30pm on Saturday when the crocodile clamped its jaws on his left leg.
"I saw the crocodile's head clearly. I repeatedly kicked and punched at its head to escape," he said, claiming that he was dragged underwater by the animal thrice during the attack.
Luckily for Ewa, his brother-in-law Kamis Hawa, 30, came to his rescue and helped him up when the reptile finally let go of his leg.
Ewa, who was initially treated at the Rompin Hospital before being transferred to the Kuantan Hospital, said that he now wanted to move out of his home of 30 years for fear of his and his family's safety.
