Flood victims help out by providing meals

Although their house is among many ruined by the floods in Kuala Krai, two siblings have come forward to provide free meals for victims since Christmas Eve, reported China Press.

Teoh Choo Choy who operates a coffee shop with his sister Choon Ying, said he decided to help those who were in the same situation because access to their village had been cut off since the floods began.

Teoh, who uses the stock of food from their coffeeshop to prepare the meals for the victims, sometimes has to work in the dark because there is no electricity.

The family, including their mother, feed some 100 flood victims who come to their shop daily.

Many of them then stay back to help clean up and do the dishes.
