PUTRAJAYA - Former Sarawak Tribune editor Lester Melanyi must spill the beans on all that he knows of the alleged plot to tarnish the image of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan said the focus now should be on the "message" brought by Lester rather than questioning his credibility.

"I am sure that there is a lot Lester has to say.

"He must say it all out and not hold back, and spill whatever he has," he told reporters when attending the Prime Minister's Hari Raya open house celebrations here Friday.

Rahman brushed aside claims by quarters that he had a role to play in Lester's exposè and the credibility of his confession.

"They always say don't shoot the messenger but focus on the message," he said.

He said this was what PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli and DAP national publicity secretary Tony Pua had preached over the years.

Rahman, who is also Barisan Nasional strategic communications director, defended his action of calling for a press conference on Wednesday, urging the police to investigate the alleged plot.

"All I did was to call for a press conference because my Government is being tarnished.

"I call on the police to expedite their investigations," he said when asked if he was part of a strategy to discredit the Sarawak Report.

On Wednesday, a three-minute video clip titled "Pendedahan Kerja Pemalsuan Dokumen #1MDB Oleh Sarawak Report" was uploaded on Youtube by Lester.

In his confession, Lester claimed that Anwar and several other opposition leaders were behind the plot to tarnish the image of Najib and 1MDB.
