MALAYSIA - A former guitarist of a local rock band in the 1990s has been found to be homeless and sleeping on the streets at Dataran Masjid Negara, reported Sinar Harian.
The rocker, who wanted to be known as Azam, 35, hoped that people would not scorn him.
He said that he had once lived comfortably while he was with the rock group but the payment could not sustain his lifestyle.
"I think I was unlucky. I left the group in 1998 and since then I have been homeless, including staying at the compound of the Raub mosque as I could not pay my rent. Now I want to try my luck in Kuala Lumpur," he said.
He said that his attempts to secure a job had been futile.
"I wish I could use my musical talent but I have no money to even repair my guitar," he said.
