Four killed in M'sia after car crashes into parked truck

PUTRAJAYA - Four business partners who were heading to Penang were killed when their car crashed into a parked sand truck on the Elite Highway.

Mazuan Malik, 42, Kalaiselvan Subramaniam, 41, Murugan Naga-lingham, 41, and Gopi Narayanasamy, 28, were killed in the collision, which resulted in the car being wedged under the truck.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Depart­ment operations director Mohd Sani Harul said firefighters arrived at the scene at about 5.30am after receiving a distress call.

"Firefighters extricated the victims from the car, which was trapped underneath the truck. They were pronounced dead on arrival at Putrajaya Hospital," he added.

Sepang OCPD Supt Mohd Yusoff Awang said Gopi was driving the car to the KL International Airport when it skidded and rammed into the truck parked on the emergency lane.

"The 33-year-old truck driver said he had to stop the vehicle because of a punctured tyre," he added.
