KUANTAN - The 13-year-old student who jumped from the third floor of her school building here is reported to be in stable condition.

The girl, who was admitted to the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital here, had undergone a minor operation on her injured hands and legs due to the fall, said state education director Rosdi Ismail.

"The girl's mother told me that she was relieved that her daughter is in stable condition, and she does not think foul play is involved," said Rosdi.

He added that the girl was a nice and quiet person.

On Tuesday, Kuantan Deputy OCPD Supt Abdul Aziz Ahmad said the girl survived a jump from the third floor of SMK Tok Sira at about 1pm.

She broke both her legs and arms and was sent to the hospital.

This was the second such similar incident at the school after a 15-year-old died after he jumped from the third floor of the school building on May 23.

Rosdi had directed his officers to interview close friends of the girl and check on certain details of the school administration

"According to the girl's family members, she did not face any problems in her studies," said Rosdi.
