ALOR SETAR - MCA members should go back to the party's core values of fighting for a fair and just society, said its Youth chief Chong Sin Woon.
"It is stated in the party constitution that our aim is to create a fair society in this country.
"There may be policies that are unfair to certain people but it will be the struggle of the party to create a fair society for everyone in the long run," he said during the Kedah MCA Youth annual general assembly here on Friday.
Chong added that no one should be denied an opportunity because of their race, skin colour, religion, gender or background.
Admitting that certain leaders could have forgotten the struggle after being in the Government for so long, he stressed that now is the time to go back to the party's central values.
Chong also chided the Opposition for always criticising the party for not standing up to Umno.
"Do not pit us against Umno as they are our partner in Barisan Nasional.
"We will speak up when we feel that a wrong has been committed," Chong stressed.
The assembly was officiated by state liaison committee chairman Datuk Lee Chee Leong, who is also International Trade and Industry Deputy Minister.
